The Honda EB2200X generator is a 4-stroke 1-cylinder model that can produce a maximum output of 2200 watts. Rated output is 2000 watts. Problems with the Honda EB2200X generator are generally related to starting. These issues can be rectified by following some steps to eliminate them. Sparking and fuel reaching the carburettor are the two biggest items.

Verify that there is fuel in the tank if the Honda EB2200X generator won't start. Refill the tank if the tank is empty or very low.
Turn the engine switch on---it's under the Honda logo. Turn the fuel valve on if the engine continues to fail to start. The fuel valve is on the left side of the generator, just below the tank.
Pull the starter grip---it's next to the fuel valve--and look at the oil alert lamp by the engine switch. If it illuminates, add oil. The oil level is too low.
Remove the spark plug to verify that the plug is sparking if the generator still won't start. First remove the spark plug cap. It is right underneath the metal plate marked "OHV" and is connected to a tube. Simply pull it off. Remove the spark plug itself with the socket set. Reattach the plug into the plug cap---just push it in and pull the recoil starter. You should see a spark jump across the gap. If you don't, give the spark plug a cleaning with a wire brush. Try it again. If it continues not to spark, replace the spark plug with a new one.
Place an old bowl under the "OHV" marked plate and turn off the fuel valve. Remove the drain screw; it's just to the right of the "V" by the plate. Fuel should flow into the bowl, indicating fuel is getting to the Honda EB2200X's carburettor. If it doesn't, the failure to start is due to a fuel blockage. Clean the fuel filter cup by turning the fuel valve off, loosening the nut below the cup with an adjustable wrench and then removing the cup and wiping it. Don't lose the rubber gasket.
Tips and warnings
- Don't perform step 4 if there's any spilt fuel around the generator. It can cause an explosion. Allow spilt fuel to evaporate.
