Cider vinegar & honey sore throat remedy

Most people have experienced a painful sore throat. Causes can be viral, bacterial or due to environmental or other irritants. While effective sore throat treatment depends upon the cause, most are due to minor illnesses which typically go away in about a week without medical treatment. A home remedy using cider and honey can help soothe the throat while the illness goes away.

Why You Have a Sore Throat

Many ordinary things can cause a sore throat. Air pollution, smoking, yelling, injury, low humidity or nasal drainage into the back of the throat are some irritants that can result in throat pain. Pollen in the air and other allergies, and even excessive breathing through the mouth, are also common factors.

Sore throats often accompany mild viral illnesses like cold or flu, and will usually subside within a few days. Since viruses are the most common sore throat culprits, it's important that you do not use antibiotics to treat them. Not only are they ineffective against viruses, unnecessary use of antibiotics can expose you to the risks of some nasty side effects.

In most cases, it's best to simply treat your sore throat symptoms with effective home remedies.
