Natural ways to get rid of large pores on the nose

Updated February 21, 2017

Large pores on the nose can make the skin appear sallow, rough and uneven in texture. People who have large pores on the nose can have a tendency to suffer from more frequent acne breakouts, as oils and dirt become trapped in the pores more easily. Luckily, there are ways to reduce the size of large pores on the nose by using a few homemade skin toners.

Tea Tree Oil Toner

Tea tree oil is a powerful acne fighter that can kill off bacteria that causes acne and help shrink the size of the pores. Tea tree oil has been shown to be just as powerful and effective as benzoyl peroxide cream but without any of the damaging and irritating side effects. Regular use of tea tree oil has been shown to reduce acne, decrease pore size and maintain a smoother, cleaner complexion. Mix 1 cup of water with 3 drops of tea tree oil and pour it into a clean spray bottle. Spray the tea tree oil toner onto the nose three times a day.

Baking Soda Toner

Baking soda is a highly alkaline substance that can be mixed with water to create an exfoliating toner for the skin. Baking soda also has been shown to kill off candida bacteria, which can cause a type of acne that can be resistant to traditional medicated creams and lotions. Regularly using an exfoliating toner on the nose will help remove dead skin cells and shrink down the pores. After cleansing the skin, fill a bowl with warm water and add 2 tbsp of baking soda. Splash the baking soda toner onto the nose and face, and let it dry on the skin naturally. Use the baking soda toner up to two times per day to maintain clear skin and smaller pores around the nose.

Urine Toner

Urine has been used worldwide for centuries as a tonic and toner for the skin and can relieve a vast array of skin conditions, including psoriasis, enlarged pores, acne and eczema. Although many people fear using urine on their skin because they think it is dirty or contaminated, urine actually is completely sterile and contains high amount of vitamins, hormones and antibodies that can help heal the body and the skin. Urine therapy will reduce inflammation and shrink the pores on the nose when applied daily, and can even reduce acne breakouts and soften the skin without the need for commercial skin products. Apply urine to the nose and facial area by soaking a cotton pad in fresh urine, then laying it onto the skin for two to three minutes. Let the skin dry naturally when finished.
