Instructions

  1. 1

Work with a professional. It is part of a hairdresser's job to know how best to flatter a person's face shape and hair type. A good hairdresser will know the tips and tricks to disguise or even flatter a person's hairline.

  2. 2

Keep hair longer in the front and at the temples. Keep the hair short and neat in the back. Doing this gives leeway to create shaggy yet fashionable hairstyles that hide the hairline. A medium length all over can also work for minimally receding hairlines because styles can be created that allow the hair to fall over the forehead.

  3. 3

Go with a completely shaved look. When a head is shaved, it can be harder to locate bald spots and/or receding hairlines.

  4. 4

Ask a doctor if the condition qualifies for medicinal treatment. Some people have found varying degrees of success using internal medications such as Propecia or topical solutions such as Rogaine. Drawbacks to these methods are largely economical; either medication requires a lifelong commitment on the part of the user to maintain success.
