LEGO Theme Party Ideas
Have a Lego-themed party for your little builder. (lego 1 image by Nathalie P from Fotolia.com)

Kids love building cities and castles out of Lego blocks, the colourful plastic bricks that are a staple of everybody's childhood. Throw a Lego-themed bash that young guests of all ages will have fun attending. The party possibilities are as endless as the building possibilities of a box of Lego blocks.

Decorations

Load up on balloons and streamers in bright primary colours. To accent your table, have your child help you put together some cool Lego scenes, or scatter Lego pieces all over the table. Set up a large table at child level that will be chock full of Legos for the kids to play with during the party.

Birthday Cake

Make a Lego cake by baking a regular-size rectangular sheet cake. Bake eight cupcakes and arrange them on the cake to look like a Lego brick. Frost the cake and the cupcakes one solid, bright colour. Serve fruit punch and sherbet drinks by mixing ginger ale with colourful sherbet.

Games And Fun

As guests arrive, have them guess how many Legos are in a clear plastic container. Whoever gets closest wins a small Lego playset or the container of Legos. Have a Lego building contest. Give each child the same number of Lego pieces, and set a timer for 10 minutes. Give awards for most creative, most unique, and enough awards to make sure every child gets a prize. You can also have a Lego drop to see how many Legos each child can drop into a jar or can.

Party Favors

Of course, Lego blocks will be included in the party loot bags, but there are other options as well. Purchase Lego-shaped candies online or at the Lego store, and include any other favours that are brightly coloured and fun for the age group, such as yo-yos, small instruments, stickers and crayons.
