Suck on ice cubes. This will reduce any inflammation and calm pain.
Increase intake of vitamin C, as this will boost your immune system and fight off symptoms or infections faster.
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. The tongue is a good indicator of various problems in our bodies, and one is often just a simple lack of water.
Regularly brush your teeth and tongue and maintain good oral hygiene.
Take some simple painkillers, such as ibuprofen.
If symptoms persist for more than a week, seek medical help, as there could be a more serious, underlying problem.
