Hello, this is Tyler with Appliance Service by Paul located in Salt Lake City, Utah. We're going to walk you through the proper steps of how to adjust the igniter on your gas stove. Okay, we're going to talk about some key pointers on the igniter on your gas top. There are no real adjustments that you can make to it. It's solid and stuck in place but there are a couple things you can do to help it spark better if you're having poor ignition issues with it. The first thing you can do is to make sure your burner caps are seated properly. This model has two base burner caps. Make sure that one, you know, you want to make sure that they're not sitting up. If it's sitting up, it's not going to spark like it should. Also, a lot of burner caps will have a place that needs to line up for the gas in order to hit the igniter itself so you want to make sure that that line is lined up perfectly with that igniter. Also, if your igniter is dirty, it's not going to spark. One of the things I like to do in order to clean the igniter is to get a little piece of really fine sandpaper or emery cloth. You can try getting just a rag from home, just take and sand it just the upper edges away. Also if any food happens to be deposited on your actual burner cap at all you can take and sand that and clean that off as well and that will help create a nice strong spark from your igniter to your burner housing allowing your burner flame to kick on.
