Hi I'm Paul Hoke with Upstate Swing and today we are going to teach you how to swing dance belt flip. Alright we are going to teach you the belt flip locally we call this the side flip. What we are going to do is start with a real easy prep. Guys we are going to put our left hand behind the lady's knee. I'm going to wrap around her belt and give her a little hug. Then we are going to do that down up that we did in the aerials lessons. Six, seven, eight, down, up. And we are just going to do a little jump. Six, seven, eight, down, up. So she's jumping as we are lifting at the same time. Then we are going to do a prep we stand up fully. Ladies are going to bring their knees up and lay flat. We'll show you that. Six, seven, eight, down, up. And we just want to hold our partner here and then bring her back down. Do that about ten times helps build her confidence up in you and makes her smile while she is doing this and not scared death. Six, seven, eight, down, up, and then back down. Guys on that prep go ahead and practice with your foot as close to her heels as you can. So when she does do the flip she doesn't land on your foot. So go ahead and back it up to her heels. Go ahead and hold her here. Six, seven, eight, down, up, ok. What I see a lot from beginners is five, six, seven and then grab her and then she gets scared to do the jump. So lets do the prep one more time. Five, six, seven, eight, down, up and then bring her back down. And go are you ready to go over? Yes. Make sure she is ready to go over, it's great to have a spotter. We may bring a spotter in here in a second. Five, six, seven, eight, down, up. She rolls over and down. But ladies one thing you want to make sure is you don't hold on to his shoulders. So we are going to just put your hands right here, top of our shoulder. Put your other hand right there. Don't grip. We'll do it one more time. Five, six, seven, eight, down, up, and down. Okay. Put your hands right there, don't grip no cat claws. Five, six, seven, eight, down, up, and I land her safely. Then we come up hit a rock step, keep on dancing. Once again I'm Paul Hoke with Upstate Swing and today we taught you how to swing dance belt flip.
