Repairing the light fixture on a ceiling just requires the right tools and a little bit of good, old-fashioned know-how. Repair a ceiling's light fixture with help from a residential and commercial contractor in this free video clip.
Hi, I'm Jim Gajdosz and I'm with CJS Electric. Today, I'm going to show you how to repair a ceiling light fixture. Tools that you're going to need are a voltage tester, a flathead screwdriver and a pair of Klein side cutters, preferably insulated. So, let's get started. Remove the globe that's holding it. You want to make sure that you got it held one hand and keep that hand secure around it while you undo the screws. Secondly, you want to check the bulb. Make sure that there is, bulb is good or replace that. Check for proper wire connection in the fixture. This you can screw the bolt slightly and it should be able to spin off and here we go. Make sure all the wires are tightly secured. Fasten it back into place. Tighten up the fixture. Check and in this case, apparently it could be the bulb; so, we're going to be replacing the bulb, we have a new bulb for it when we place the bulb. It pushes in and it just twists in there. Alright, and what we'll do is now is check the switch to make sure that it's working. And that's how you fix a lighting fixture. I'm Jim with CJS Electric. Thanks for watching.
