Applying eye makeup involves taking into consideration things like consistency and coverage area. Apply eye makeup for women over 40 with help from a professional makeup artist in this free video clip.
Hi, I'm Jessica Adams with Pure Skin Artistry. And today, I'm going to show you how to apply eye makeup over 40. First step is to take a nice peach shadow. I'm going to do a wash all over the lid. So, you can take this all the way up to the brow bone. And keep applying until you get the consistency and the coverage that you want. If there's any fallout you can swipe that out after. I'm going to do the same thing for the other eye. So, you get it all over. Over 40, you want to start toning down your looks a little bit as far as your eye makeup goes. Not so many loud colors, shimmers, all of that. Maybe for a special occasion but otherwise you want to stay matte and really nice. And that's the first step. The next step is to apply a darker gray shadow. Just to the outer third of the eye. So, I'm going to start out here in the corner and start out here and blend in and up. You want to create this crease here. If you don't have one you can make it with the shadow. Just keep blending to you have it covered nicely. And I'm going to do the same thing for the other eye. The outer third of the eye. Bring it up for the crease. Don't go all the way up to the brow. Just want to stay down here in this crease, 'cause we are going to highlight that brow bone later. And that's the second step. Next we are going to take a nice highlighter. This is a light powder. We are just going to put it in the inner corners of the eye and right under the brow bone. Just stick it right in here and blend it well. This is going to help open up the eye. It's great for hooded eyes. It's really great for anyone to just open it up. I'm going to do the same thing on this side. And I'm going to apply some just under the brow bone here. Make sure you blend it in. Alright so next we are going to work on our eyeliner and our mascara. Take the eyeliner you just want to do a thin line right across. Your eyeliner should never be heavier on the bottom then it is on the top. Especially for older women that can really look like it's bringing the eyelid down rather then lifting it. And it's not nice. So, we are going to apply some mascara here. Okay, now I am putting it on the other eye. And get our mascara. This is Jessica Adams and you've been watching how to apply eye makeup for over 40. Thank you for watching.
