Hi. I'm Heather, a natural nail specialist from Tampa, Florida, and today we're going to talk about how to stop peeling nails. First, you need to take a look at if you're hydrating your nails properly. make sure to apply lotion, or a cuticle oil everyday because the more hydrated that they are, the stronger that they will grow. You also have to take a look at your diet. A lot of people think that weaker nails, peeling nails is from a lack of protein, when it could be a number of different factors from vitamin B to sulfur to biotin. Also, check with your prescription meds, as some of them do have side effects that affect your nails. Also, avoid chemical exposure. Whether you're cleaning, or changing your oil, you want to make sure to try and protect your hands and wear gloves as much as you can. Also, avoid water exposure. Please wear gloves when you wash your dishes and if your hands are submerged in water for long periods of time, make sure to completely dry them for two minutes before proceeding on with your day. Another problem with peeling nails is that a lot of people are picking the wrong nail treatments. If you notice that after two weeks that your nails are not getting any better with the treatment that you're currently using, stop the treatment and try a different one.
