Hello, this is Nene Ortega with Nene Baila. Today, I'm going to show you an introduction to Merengue Latin dance. We are here at the Goddess Store Studio in Hollywood, Florida. Merengue, merengue is a Latin dance, very fun. I would say it's the easiest of them, and it's very nice and very happy. The first thing we have to do is to move one leg bent and the other is going to be straight. We're going this exercise. We're going to bend a knee and the other one is going to be straight. That gives hip movement. So, I'm going to show you from another angle. As we bend the knee, the other gets straight and we have the Cuban motion, that is the basic step for Latin music. Now, we're going to do a Merengue. We're going to go side, together, side, together, side, together, side, together. I'm going to show you to the other side, so it's open closed, open closed. With the Merengue you can go forward and notice that I'm very grounded on the floor that is very important and I can turn around, turn always one is bent and the other one is straight. So we have, this is the Merengue, we have side to the other side, we can go forward and go back. I'm always grounded. So it's not a marching, it's a grounded dance. This is the Merengue, a Latin dance. So I'm going to go side again, to the other side and the other side. So it's one, two, one, two, one, two, one, two, merengue, basic steps, Nene Ortega. Thank you.
