Cleaning old grout is easier than replacing it. Restore your grout with the help of this free video presented by a successful contractor.
Hi, my name is Chris Wade, and I'm a contractor for the city of Los Angeles. Today, I'm going to show you how to clean old grout. Here we have some dirty grout. As you can see, it's just dirty right here, it's old and it just needs to be cleaned up. It doesn't necessarily need to be replaced, it just needs to be cleaned up. You take an old toothbrush, a bottle of diluted peroxide, maybe 60/40, just spray it on there, spray it on there, take your toothbrush, a little bit of elbow grease, takes it right up. See? Take a rag or a pair of old dirty underwear, whatever you have, just get on in there. It doesn't hurt the tile at all, cleans up your grout. Now, for real hard to get out stains it would be a good idea or another option you can use is vinegar and that seems to work pretty well too, but a little bit of elbow grease, rag, squirt bottle and you're good to go. Nothing to it.
