Hi, I'm Hilary Talbott, acupuncture physician and clinical herbalist. Today, we'll be discussing acupressure for Erectile Dysfunction or ED. Now, this is recently become a pretty hot topic, as most of us are used to seeing commercials for pharmaceuticals that treat Erectile Dysfunction. And lots of Americans are taking these, but they also come with pretty high side effects and risks. And there's a lot of populations that can't take them, especially, people with heart problems. So, I'm going to show you some acupressure points that might help mediate the problem. So, we're going to use some points in the ankles, today and the foot. And these are things that you would want to do daily, in order to try and alleviate the situation. And there's about six different patterns of disharmony that can contribute to erectile dysfunction. So, it's really important to understand, what that pattern of disharmony is. In order to get a better idea of which acupressure points would work for you. So, in order to do that, you want to contact your local acupuncture physician, and you can find one on AcuFinder.com. So today, I'm just going to show you the command point for the urogenital system. It's called Spleen 6 in Chinese medicine or Yin Crossing. In order to find that, it's about one hand breadth, from the tip of the Medial Malleolus. So, the tip of the Medial Malleolus is this bony prominence, here on the inside of your foot. And you're just going to press about one hand length. You're going to measure from the tip to the other side, just off, of the Tibia bone. Which is this big bone, here. So, you're kind of searching for a little indentation here. And sometimes, it'll actually be sensitive to the patient, especially, if it's one that could be useful in treating ED. Once you find that, you want to use moderate pressure in a clockwise direction, for about three to five minutes daily. And this point is found on both feet, as these channels are bilateral. And so again, this isn't a quick fix, this isn't something that's going to immediately change the ED. But something that you would want to employ daily for sometime, to see if you get a result from it. Now, another point that's located just down in the ankle, is Kidney 3. And that is located in the hollow, just behind the Medial Malleolus, and again, gentle pressure. And this would address any kidney imbalances that are leading to impotence or erectile dysfunction. So again, it's really important to understand, what the pattern of disharmony is, that's leading to the erectile dysfunction. It could be emotional, it could be something as serious as an infection. So, contact your local acupuncture physician to get a correct diagnosis for you. In order to mediate the problem without pharmaceuticals. I'm Hilary Talbott and that was acupressure for erectile dysfunction.
