Hi, I'm Jared Schneider from Smith Point Archery in Patchogue, New York. Today, I'm going to show you how to tie in a string silencer. The materials you will need are a lighter, a razor blade and some serving thread. First, I'm going to cut two lengths of thread about a foot and a half each. To tie in the string silencers, you will need to tie a series of double overhand knots. You can start anywhere above the string silencer, and you are going to start by tying a regular overhand knot, that's the same knot you use when you are tying your shoelaces. Then, you are going to go through the loop again to make it a double overhand knot. Now I'm ready to pull the knot tight. That first knot is tied above the bow string. The next knot will be tied directly underneath the bow string. Then, I'm going to repeat that until I have four knots on top and four on the bottom. I tied my fourth knot on top. Now I'm going to finish it by tying one more directly on top of it. Cut off the loose ends. To finish the knot, I'll burn the ends. Now that your knots are tied, all you have to do is slide them up against your string silencer. I'm Jared Schneider from Smith Point Archery in Patchogue, New York, and that's how you tie in a string silencer.
