Hi, I'm Melody Schoenfeld, with Flawless Fitness in Pasadena, California, and I'm here to talk about stretchy band exercises for seniors. Now, this is a broad category because it really depends on the senior. It depends on your level of mobility, you could be stronger than the average 20 year old or you could just be starting out. So, it really depends on where you are in the spectrum of fitness. That having been said, if any of these exercises are easy for you, just like anyone else, you should be doing something harder. So if it feels easy, it's too easy, so just remember that. Don't make me come find you and make sure you're doing something hard for yourself, alright. So, what I'm going to teach you is, a basic band walking exercise, which I think is useful for the hips. So, what you're going to do,is you're going to stand on your band, like this. And what you're going to do is, you're going to step out to the side and bring your feet together. Step out to the side, bring your feet together. What you should feel, is a little resistance in your hips, alright. Now, if this is becoming pretty easy for you, you can start to add a little arm motion, alright. So, you can bring your hands up to your shoulders, you can bring your hands up to the ceiling, alright. Work your shoulders a little bit, alright. And these are compound exercises, so they're working more than one muscle group at a time. They're getting you mobile, they're getting you stable, and this is a good place to start. And this is Melody, talking about exercise, band exercises you can do for seniors.
