Hi I'm Andrea Pratt and this is USA Gymnastics World in Bountiful, UT. I have Paige here who is going to help me demonstrate a cartwheel. The materials you will need are a floor and a wide open space. You are going to start in a lunge which is your front leg bent and your back leg straight. Your arms are right by your ears. You are going to begin by lifting your foot off the ground immediately try to keep your hips right over the top in the middle of the cartwheel. If they are out around the sides that makes the cartwheel difficult. You want to raise your hands up right away and then end in another lunge. She is going to demonstrate another one in full motion. When practicing your cartwheel it's helpful to have a line to practice on. It helps your hips to go over the top correctly.
