When using a bundt pan, it is important to coat the inside with shortening and flour to prevent the cake from sticking to it. Use a bundt pan properly with a demonstration from a professional pastry chef in this free video on baking cakes.
Hello, I am Sue Walker and I am going to show you how to use a Bundt pan. The most common use for a Bundt pan is to bake a Bundt cake. To prepare the Bundt pan for baking the cake, you will need to grease the bottom and sides of the pan. You will need about a tablespoon of shortening for greasing the pans, and some flour for flouring the pans. Make sure you cover the entire surface. Now, sprinkle some flour onto the pan and pat it around. Pat out the excess flour. If there are any spots that are bare, you need to regrease them and reflour them. If your cake requires toppings, such as brown sugar, candy or nuts, put these in before pouring in the batter. Bake the cake according to the recipe instructions. Take the cake out of the oven and let cool for 10 to 15 minutes. Loosen the sides gently with a knife, invert the cake onto a plate. And that is how to use a Bundt pan.
