You will need a large bowl, measuring spoons, measuring cups, a large skillet, tongs, a casserole dish, and an oven. The ingredients are one pound of ground beef, one fourth pound of ground pork, one and one fourth cup of fresh bread crumbs, two tablespoons of minced onion, one egg slightly beaten, one and one half teaspoons of salt, one eighth teaspoon of pepper, one eighth teaspoon of nutmeg, one half cup of milk, four tablespoons of butter, three tablespoons of flour, two cups of beef broth, and one cup of sour cream. Combine the bread crumbs, onion, salt, pepper, nutmeg, egg, and milk in a large bowl. Let stand for five minutes until all the milk is absorbed into the bread. Stir in the ground beef and the ground pork. Form into one and one half inch balls. Melt the butter in the skillet. Brown the meatballs in the butter. Remove the meatballs to the casserole dish. Blend the flour into the drippings in the skillet and using a gravy whisk, cook and stir until bubbly. Now, add the beef broth and continue cooking until the gravy thickens. Pour the gravy over the meatballs. Place the casserole in the oven and bake at 325 for thirty minutes. Take out of the oven and stir in the sour cream.
