Hi, my name is Krista Blessing and I am going to talk to you about how to teach classroom safety rules to your preschoolers. The main thing to remember for this is repetition. If you see a child, maybe standing up on a chair, you need to go over and ask them to sit down because it's dangerous and explain why, why they can get hurt. But again, it's a lot of repetition, so you may have to continually go back and say the same thing over again. But, don't get discouraged because they will learn. You can also do different things like, it's important for them to wash their hands, show them how to wash their hands, because they need safety from germs. And, also safety on their bikes outside, you can talk to them about wearing maybe a helmet or something of that sort. So, here's an example, but it just helps a lot if you are, you know, watching over them while they are playing in their centers, and, you know, it's a continual thing. You will need to talk to them about it on a daily basis. And that is how you teach classroom safety rules to your preschoolers.
