When photographing fabrics, make sure to adjust the exposure on your camera according to the fabric. Photograph fabric correctly with advice from a professional photographer and videographer in this free video on photography.
Hi, I'm Marika Neumann and I'm going to show you how to photograph fabric. You will need a digital camera with at least seven megapixels, a USB memory card, and your fabric. The first step is to create a background for the fabric on a flat surface. Use a lighter, neutral-colored background for darker fabrics. And for lighter fabrics use darker colors. Adjust the light balance on the camera to match the light source. For light or dark fabric exposure, compensation might be necessary. Increase the exposure for darker fabrics and decrease the exposure for lighter fabrics. And now you're ready to photograph your fabric. Make sure to take a number of different photos and experiment with different zooming. Get close up photos of the details of the fabric. And that is how to photograph fabric.
