"Hi I'm Dr. Mike Glasmeier of First Impressions Family Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee and today we'll be talking about ways that you can clean your toothbrush. Materials used can be as simple as using running hot water or peroxide or mouthwash. Brushing your teeth on a daily basis can not only keep your gums very clean and your teeth very healthy but it can lead to a dirty toothbrush so it is very important to make sure that adequate care has been provided for the toothbrush that you are using to brush on a daily basis. To keep it clean you can start out very simple by running it under some very hot water and trying to dislodge any sort of debris that has accumulated not only on the bristles but on the brush. If not running water is not adequate to remove the majority of the debris found on the toothbrush you can take your toothbrush and soak it periodically in some sort of peroxide or mouthwash and kind of agitate it very gently while it is in the rinse. That will also help dislodge any sort of accumulation that has occurred on the brush during daily brushing. In conclusion there are several things that can be done to help make sure that your toothbrush stays clean."
