"Hi, my name is Dr. Ana Lamas and I am a practicing allergist and immunologist in the Miami area. Lets talk about how to cure chemical allergies. That's a very interesting topic because chemical allergies is by itself a misnomer or an oxymoron. One cannot be allergic to a chemical. One is allergic to a protein substance like a food, a pollen, a mold, a dust mite. What often occurs with chemicals is an intolerance, an inability to handle the presence of that chemical. So first and foremost, for curing or treating this chemical insensitivity or this hypersensitivity is avoidance. If a person works in an environment, an industrial environment with a lot of exposure, they need to wear protective gear. Avoidance is first and foremost for treatment of chemical sensitivities."
