Summary: Sculpey clay is a great material for making movie props, as it can be sculpted easily, baked to harden and painted using any spray or craft paint. Use Sculpey to make a variety of props with help from a movie producer in this free video on filmmaking.

"Hi I am Shaun O'Rourke with Eleven Bravo Productions, and we are here at EUE Screen Gem Studios one of the largest studio complexes on the east coast. And I am here with Mollie Olesky, and we are going to talk to you about how to make movie props out of Sculpey, Mollie. Well Sculpey is a great substance to work with. Sculpey all you have to do is make it and it hardens. When concerning bullets all you have to do is sculpt them, and you know just have your reference ready for whatever type of bullet you are making from shotguns to rifles. Just have reference, and so you can make it look realistic, and the thing with Sculpey is it does not take a long time to harden. You have to watch it or it will burn. Follow directions on the back I believe it is two hundred and fifty degrees per one fourth of an inch. So a bullet would take maybe six minutes in the oven. Just lay them out on a cookie sheet. I actually would set up sort of an armature. If you don't know what an armature it is pretty much just something for you know a sculpture to stand on. Really all you have to do is some toothpicks, and some tinfoil it is the easiest way to do it. Just so you don't lose the shape of the bullet. And then you bake it for the six minutes, you pop them out, and you can just use spray paint. A lot of companies make great gun metal metallic spray paint, and I just coat it until it shines. You can do multiple layers to get it super smooth. And that is how to make a bullet if you were sculpting a bullet for a scene. Now the reason you would make it out of Sculpey again, because there is no chemicals, there is no gun powder, there is nothing that can explode, because safety is first. Nobody gets hurt. So there you go. So we just showed you, and talked to you about how to make a movie prop, in this case a bullet out of Sculpey."
