Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen, and in this segment we are going to talk about how to grow green beans in a container. Now green beans are a favorite in any vegetable garden. And whether you have them in a greenhouse or outside or in a container in a sunny window you can grow them almost anywhere. And they con grow in containers really easily as well. Let me show you what to do. So you can start them right from seed right into container, and they will grow just like they grow right here. Or you can take them right out of the flower bed, and you see there is not much root to them at all. It is quite amazing. But you want to make sure that that root is always completely covered, and never too dry, because you will lose them. So I'm going to put that right into the soil, maybe even cover a couple of the bottom leaves just to be safe. Now the thing with green beans is they need something to grow onto, because they are going to fall right over. And I have got this little orchid holder right here, and I can just work it around. And as they grow too from seed you will notice they will just come right up, and you can just kind of force them to work where they want. Sometimes little clips help a lot too. These little hair clips are just perfect. And you just kind of grow them right onto the stick. And you just keep them moist, but never too wet. You want to let them breathe, and let the water come out of the container. You want to keep them at a really sunny spot though, because green beans do not like to be in the shade. And they need heat, lots of heat. So you don't want them to be too hot or too dry. And you can grow green beans that easily in a container.
