"Hi! My name is Tanya Batts and I'm a personal trainer with Gold's Gym. I want to talk to you today about how to prevent shoulder injuries. Wow, a lot of shoulder injuries very common. The trick to preventing a shoulder injury is just strengthening the muscle all along the shoulder. So, here's just a few little things that you can do to keep the shoulders really strong. Kind of simple. So you come on down, all the way down. Five pound weight, lift and lower, looks really simple, anything on, do it with a twenty. Try it, you won't believe hard it is. That's really working. So, my elbow is not touching my side. I'm coming up and down. Those shoulders already burning I just got a five pounder. Ohhh, that's a good one. Alright that's already burning. Here's another one. Hands and knees, 'cos I like when the upper bodies relax, the face will actually really don't have to worry about the legs, you could focus on the shoulder. Take that weight. Retract the shoulder blades back and pressing up and I'm doing it with a long arm. That's really getting that into that internal rotation of that shoulder. Strengthening all the muscles, haaaaah. It's a great way to strengthen the muscle. Another one you could say, two ways that just go straight out. You can even take the weight straight in front of you and you want to do this on each arm. That's already burning. So, after it's burning, another thing you really need to think about is stretching the shoulder. Here's a great stretch for that shoulder. It's going to take a band, you can even take a towel, no big deal. I'm going to take a band, grab with the hands up on the side, I got it behind me, pulling up and take that towel or that big end in front of the shoulder and hold it. Oh, that's a great stretch. It's real deep into that shoulder. Amazing. Another stretch is bring that arm right across the chest, even looking over that shoulder increases that stretch. So, those are just a few things you can do to really strengthen the shoulder and prevent shoulder injuries."
