"Hi I'm Angela, I swim for Eagle Aquatic Team in Salt Lake City, Utah. Here's some tips on how to swim competitively. If you want to swim faster than me you have got to practice to swim fast in workout. You have got to use the right technique, and the right speed if you ever want to get better. It is very important to practice. To practice swimming fast so you will know how to swim fast at a race. Some of those things you can practice are using correct technique, and balancing power and speed. You don't want to go so fast that you are just spinning through the water, and not moving anywhere. But you don't want to go so slow that everyone else goes in front of you. So you ought to make sure that you are strong, and every stroke counts to move you forward to the end and fast. To swim best at a competition you might need to rest a little bit before. So you can kind of taper down your workouts so they get easier so you can swim your best at the meet. Nutrition is an important part to help you swim fast too. You have got to make sure that you are well fed, and well hydrated before your race, and also before practice.
