"Hi I'm Angela, I swim for Eagle Aquatic Team in Salt Lake City, Utah. A lot of people ask can you wear contact lenses while swimming. Most, you can wear contact lenses while swimming, but only if you are wearing goggles. Without wearing goggles they will fall out. I don't wear contacts. A lot of my friends do, and they just have to use goggles, and use contact lenses while they are swimming or else they cannot see. But, yea contact lenses are perfectly safe to wear while swimming as long as you have goggles on. If you prolong exposure in the water to chlorine can irritate your eyes. But to fight that you have just got to rinse out, use eye wash to rinse out your eyes after that or wear goggles, which will prevent your eyes from getting irritated at all. Sometimes they get red, teary, dry, but the best way to combat that is just to wear goggles."
