It's important for people not to breed guinea pigs unless they are trained breeders, and breeders should make sure that the mother weighs at least 200 grams. Discover how gestation takes about nine to 10 weeks for guinea pigs with help from the manager of a pet store in this free video on breeding guinea pigs.
Hi this is Ashlee from Pet Planet in Riverton. Today I'm going to let you know how you could breed your Guinea pig. I do actually do not recommend you breeding unless you are a trained breeder. But the best way to do it is you want to make sure that the mommas at least weights two hundred grams. You don't want to, they can breed as early as five weeks, but you would not want to do that. You want to make sure that they are older. It takes about nine to ten weeks for you to end up having little baby guinea pigs. One thing you want to do while the mother is pregnant is you want to make sure you give her extra vitamin C in her diet because she does need that since she is feeding for a bunch of her babies. One thing is it takes at least fourteen to twenty eight days to wean them off of their mothers so make sure that they are eating on their own and drinking on their own before you do take them away from their mother.
