Hi friends I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida. Getting rid of flying ants can be a real problem. Number one because they do fly which means they are up in the air and they can land just about anywhere. Remember, flying ants wherever the wind blows, that is where you are going to see the flying ants but where do the flying ants come from? Well they are going to come from either an ant colony that is on your home or maybe an adjacent home or structure or maybe out in the woods or they can come from a colony that has been in your own home for a long period of time. Remember the flying ants are the winged reproductives of the ant colony that is currently infesting your home or structure. So if you have and you see this on a regular basis you know you have a fairly large colony within your home. Now if they are inside the house get them properly identified, that's number one, maybe getting some regular tape and seeing a couple, use the tape to capture them and have them properly identified by either your local county extension service office or bring them into your pest control office. If they are inside the home that you see a lot of them, aerosol sprays such as a PT 565 fogger will kill any of the flying ants but remember again the flying ants are the secondary reproductives of the colony and the primary reproductives of a company, of an actual colony and the ones that are doing the damage are still there, so you have to identify what type of ant it is first then find out where they are nesting and then you can get rid of them. There are a lot of sprays and materials that you can use, baits and gels that can be used to kill them, identification is key here I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida hoping you have a pest free day.
