"You know experiencing a nick or a cut from shaving can be a slightly painful but annoying experience. Hi, I'm Captain Joe Bruni, and what I'm going to discuss and talk about is how to stop the bleeding from a nick from shaving. Basically, take a cotton swab or a piece of tissue dipped in water and first clean the blood away from the area where the nick has occurred. Because the face is so well profused with blood, it will continue normally to bleed for several minutes. It can be an annoying experience trying to get it to stop. If you have some type of styptic pencil that can be bought at your local pharmacy, styptic pencils are made from powdered aluminum sulfate into a pencil type shape. Wet the end of the styptic pencil in water and apply it to the nick or shaved area that has received the injury. The aluminum sulfate will cause the area to stop bleeding rather quickly. Without a styptic pencil, some type of wet tissue like toilet tissue can be wet and applied and stuck to that wound to help reduce the chances of it bleeding for a long period of time. Shaving nicks can be a pretty annoying experience when trying to stop the bleeding. I'm Captain Joe Bruni. Stay safe and we'll see you next time."
