"Is your skin itchy and flaky? You may be wondering if you may actually have eczema. I'm here to describe how to minimize this itchy skin which commonly is referred to as eczema. I'm Doctor Savage, I'm an osteopathic family practice physician from Tampa. There are number of things that actually can irritate the skin and cause the skin to actually grow more than it should. So what happens is you have a callous like excess of skin in certain areas. Sometimes it's not as pigmented as your normal maybe tan skin. And tends to flake a lot. Things to do to avoid this, to maintain your skin to be well hydrated by using hypo-allergenic non-scented lotions. Using detergents and soaps that are also hypo-allergenic. With that said you may actually have another type of skin condition so it is actually important to see your doctor, if there is actually any question at all. And also to discuss potential medical therapies in which they can prescribe a medicine that can help. I hope this helps. I'm Doctor Savage, I wish you the best of health."
