"Hi, I'm Amy McCauley, and we're going to discuss the benefits of staying fit. Keeping yourself in good shape is going to help increase the longevity of your life, it's going to reduce your stress, your anxiety. It's going to help you sleep better. Doing cardiovascular activities is good for your heart, it lowers your cholesterol, it helps increase bone mass. The muscle tissue, the joints, getting them stronger through resistance training. You will increase your caloric burn throughout the day, so the more muscle mass you have, the more calories your burn throughout the day. So you have a fitter, stronger body. It lowers your body fat. It helps increase your energy levels. So when you work out you'll notice on days that you're working out you're able to have more energy throughout the day, as well as sleep better at night. I've noticed that a lot of people who exercise do sleep a whole lot better during the night, trying to get that eight hours of sleep in per day. The more fit you become, the longer you increase the lifespan. So that is our ultimate goal in life is to stay here as long as we possibly can. And those are the benefits of staying fit."
