I'm Bill Elzey with Showplace Lawns. Let's talk about getting rid of fleas in our yard and let's talk about doing it the natural way which is the safe way and in my opinion the only way to do things outside. Fleas will bother our pets. Fleas can bit us and so forth and are real irritating. The best way to do this is to get a handle in front of them. That is to use beneficial nematodes. Beneficial nematodes sprayed on the lawn are a great preventative to keep fleas from happening in your yard. In this part of the country we do it three times a year depending on the climate and so forth. Again you may only want to do it twice or so. But they are the preventatives so have them there first to keep the fleas from happening. Once they are out and you have the nematodes in the yard you need to maintain a regular watering schedule to keep these things alive and keep them active.
