A line graph in Microsoft Excel is made by entering data into a spreadsheet, highlighting all of the data, clicking on the "Insert" tab and selecting "Charts" to find the line chart button. Create a line graph from a spreadsheet with IT help from a software developer in this free video on computers.
Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to make a line graph in Microsoft Excel. Let's go to our computer. We're going to open up Excel by clicking on the start button, go in to all programs. Let's find Microsoft Office, and we're going to launch Excel. Now what I'm going to do here is the first step, which is type in some data in sort of a tabular form. I'm going to keep track of my employees, the number of sales and, for making it more interesting, I'm going to do repeat customers. Let's just type in some information here. And my last employee. Now that my data is entered, all that we have to do to create our chart is highlight it all. I'm just dragging my mouse until I have it highlighted. Go to the insert tab at the top, and under charts, we're going to do a line chart. Now I'm basically going to do just a real simple, 2-D line chart here. I just click on the type of chart that you want. Now that actually inserts our chart into Excel, and I'm going to copy and paste it into an image editing program so that you can see it a little bit better. So there's our line chart that was built for us in Excel. My name is Dave Andrews. I've just showed you how to create a line chart using Microsoft Excel.
