"Now, next we are going to discuss how to apply foundation correctly, and it is very important to have the right tools for that. I discussed earlier how important it is to actually work with a synthetic brush. I personally think that it works much better because the bristles won't absorb the product and will actually transport the makeup in a much smoother way onto the skin. So now that we picked Shanna's shade, I'm going to just show you how to apply foundation correctly, with the help of a synthetic foundation brush and a little latex sponge. Now, first you want to start on the t-zone; forehead, bridge of the nose, chin. And then you can actually blend out. Maybe add a few more dots on the cheeks, and then you start blending. And really, the better you blend your makeup, the more natural it is going to look. And make sure you get the edges of the face, too. It's easier if someone else is doing your makeup. I know sometimes it is a little bit challenging to blend so well if you just have five minutes in the morning. But really make sure that you do so. Otherwise you just end up looking too masky and heavy-handed. After I blended the foundation with my foundation brush, I'm just going to go in and blend out perhaps the hairline, the jawline, and the rest of the face with my latex sponge. These are actually great because they're washable. And it should really look very bare and flawless. Great."
