Many people today want a whiter, brighter smile. Some of us can achieve it with proper oral hygiene—regular brushing, flossing, and using mouthwash. Some of us need a little extra help to get our yellowing teeth to return to the land of sparkling white, especially smokers and coffee drinkers. There are a number of products out there that will help turn our teeth a few shades whiter, including bleaching agents and toothpastes that contain whiteners. For some, these do the trick; for others, over the counter solutions are often hit and miss, with temporary results. "Ok well coronal polishing is really important for people to have done. So what it does, is it cleans all the tarter and the calculus from the gum line of the tooth all the way to the tip of the tooth. The gum line of the tip of the tooth is called the crown or the coronal, thus the name coronal polish. And what happens is, is when a person just through day to day wear and tear of eating, drinking, you know breathing they start building up excess bacteria and tartar and calculus on these teeth, that just brushing and flossing alone will not remove. So obviously the benefits for coronal polishing is to remove this and also have a better foundation for some super duper healthy gums. Now most of the time a dentist or a dental hygienist will do the coronal polishing. And most people usually have to get it done once every six months, sometimes people have to get it done more times because genetically they build up a more of a bacteria and they have to get it done every three months or one month. This is the time you can blame your mother and father because that's, because it's in your genes that you have to build up this tartar control and everything else like that. So then that's what the foundation is on the coronal polish."
