In this clip I'm going to talk to you about the types of wood that is good for turning. Any hard wood species can be suitable for turning a bowl, hardwoods like for example, cherry or ash. This is mahogany and here we have some black walnut. These are all woods that are perfectly acceptable for turning bowls or another type of turning that you might be interested in. Any of the fruit woods, cherry or pear, or apple are wonderful woods to turn because especially if you are working with green wood, they can be wonderful smelling and it is very pleasant to be turning them in your shop. Other woods that are fine for turning can include elm, some oak, birch, and things of that nature.
