Hi, this is Yolanda Vanveen, and in this segment we're going to talk about how to build a vegetable garden. Now a vegetable garden can be planted anywhere there's full hot sun. So you don't need a large property. All you need is a little patio or a deck or even a balcony where you can have a little area where you can grow your vegetables. Now, the best way to grow your vegetables is in raised beds. And so all you need is either bricks or wood. And just line them up in a square or a rectangle and then fill it up with good composted or organic soil or potting soil, anything that's really rich in nutrients. And many times, I like to put gravel on the bottom or sticks or moss. Or anything on the bottom of your beds just to give it a little more air and some more organic material underneath and then that way everything will grow really well. Make sure it's in full, hot sun all day. You don't want any shade in your vegetable garden. And you can start your seeds indoors at the last frost and then turn around and transplant them in your vegetable beds as soon as it starts to warm up a little bit in the summer. But growing your own vegetable garden is so rewarding and it's so easy to do.
