So, Chinese herbal medicines can offer an alternative to promoting hair growth. In Chinese medicine, we have a saying that kidneys are responsible for hair growth on the head, so if you strengthen the kidneys then it will help promote hair growth. Also, we like to strengthen the blood or you blood tonics because the blood will promote the circulation to a scalp. So, there's some formulas I'd like to share with you, and also some recipes that you can do at home, and some supplements that will help encourage hair growth. The first one I want to share with you is called Muchi Pai Feng Wan and this, actually these two are both blood tonics, they nourish the blood and encourage the blood to the scalp. The second one is called Four Substance for Women and this is used often times for women for their menstrual cycles, but it's also just for very strong blood tonics, so it would be good for men that are having hair loss or even women that are having hair loss, and, this formula is called ShoWu Pien, this is one herb, hundred percent showu, and in China this is pretty famous for stopping, actually, in China they say that ShoWu Pien, if you take it long term, it will turn your gray hair to black hair again. So, it helps premature graying of hair and thinning of hair, and hair loss, and the last one is called Seven Treasure for Hair, and this has showu pien in it but it has also some blood tonics and other things that are very good for assisting. So, as with all herbal formulas, it's important to consult with acupuncture physician or herbalist to get the proper diagnosis, treatment plan and herbal formula, but I would also like to share with you a recipe that you can do at home. To encourage hair growth, a safe recipe that you can do at home is, 1 cup of brown rice, you're going to soak it overnight, and then a 1/2 ounce of dried fish, it can be any dried fish but I put cuttlefish as an example. You put the rice and fish in 4 cups of water, bring to a boil then lower the heat and simmer for 30 minutes, and just do that every other day for until you're feel like you're getting some results. Also, some very helpful supplements, make sure you're getting your Omega 3 Fatty Acids and that can be a capsule of fish oil, flax seed oil and then you can also eat salmon three times a week, and make sure you're getting GLA, Gamma Linolenic Acid, and an example of that would be a capsule of Primrose Oil Gel, and that will help encourage hair regrowth.
