"Hi, I'm Trina Sims of Green Star Herbs, and today I'm going to talk about some natural approaches to taking care of scars. Exercise, of course, is your very, very first and best ally for skin health. It promotes circulation through the skin, which helps to nourish and cleanse the skin itself and helps to rejuvenate the tissue. Avoid direct sun on the scars themselves, but do be certain that you're getting enough vitamin D. Usually, we make vitamin D from exposure to sunlight, but if you think you're not getting sufficient from your exposure to the sun, please seek the advice of a qualified health care professional to give you some guidance about supplementing with D3. Let's talk about diet for a moment. Remove preservatives from your diet and most processed foods. Preservatives actually retard the skin's ability to regenerate itself. Stay hydrated, and add lots of tropical fruits like pineapple, papaya, mango, and others to your diet. They have a group of enzymes that also promote the breakdown of fibroid, which appears in scar tissue too much, and help rejuvenate skin tissue. Now, we can use a number of things on the skin to help lessen those scars. Among the most common are cocoa butter, vitamin E oil is probably the most popular, and jojoba oil, which used to be rare, but is well-known these days. A little bit less well-known are things like macadamia nut oil, pomegranate seed oil, and rose hip oil. These are wonderfully rejuvenating and regenerating for the skin. Now, in the category of oils that are very powerful, but may be a little more costly and less well-known, are sea buckthorn, tamanu, and emu oil. I hope you find this information helpful. Thank you."
