"Hi, I'm Trina Sims of Green Star Herbs, and today I'm going to talk about some herbs that can help support you in your efforts to quit smoking. Licorice root is a commonly used herb for this. Many, many people simply chew on sticks of the dried root to satisfy the oral craving, to give themselves something to do with their hands, and actually help suppress that craving that we'd get. In addition, there are a number of good commercial blends. Many of these are formulated with an herb called lobelia, which is reputed to key into the same nerve receptors as nicotine and helps satisfying the cravings that way. They come in a number of formulations, a number of forms from lozenges to capsules and sprays. Something I always recommend to folks who are trying to kick a habit of almost any kind of consumption is kudzu root. It has a long history for helping addictions. It can be encapsulated or simply the powder can be added to your food. It has a very mild, totally neutral flavor. When folks come to me and ask for help with their quit smoking attempts, I most often recommend that they start the day with a couple of capsules of the anti-smoking formulation. Keep the spray with them to use as they need, and take six to twelve capsules of kudzu a day or simply add it to food. Two teaspoons to two tablespoons is a...is a good rate for this. Best of luck with your efforts to quit smoking. I hope you've found this information helpful. Thank you."
