Hi I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida. We have a lot of people asking us questions about fogging for mosquitoes. There are a couple of ways this can be accomplished. Several companies are currently offering misting systems where they will come to your home and they will actually put a tank in the ground that contains a chemical and then off of that tank they will run lines around your home mostly in areas that you are going to frequent at night time and they have little micro emitters at the very end and what happens is during the day they will be set on a regular schedule where a mister will actually come on to a time clock and it will spout out a little bit of misting which will go ahead and kill mosquitoes that are in your area so this type of a fogging system will work very well outside of your home. Now what about maybe mosquitoes that are inside the home? Well inside the home there are products available on the market like PT 565 foggers that homeowners can purchase from either a do it yourself pest control store or local garden center and you take those into the home and you turn off your air conditioner and you can go ahead and mist inside of the home with this product. It only takes about three or four seconds per room, leave the home for about an hour, you can come back open up your windows and leave the screens on of course and any of the mosquitoes that had been in the home will be killed by that particular type of spray. Other ways outside the home making sure that the mosquitoes are not there in the first place by emptying any water reservoirs that are around the home, plants such as, that hold water in little pans underneath the plant that you empty those containers out, that will help to eliminate the breeding mosquitoes and Bromeliads if you eliminate the water from inside the Bromeliads that will stop mosquitoes from growing around the home and that will help you stay mosquito free. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida hoping you have a pest free day.
