Hi, I'm Rachel Yatuzis and I'm going tell you about removing mold from fabric. A lot of times the worst part about molding of fabric is the smell. But I'll let you know what to do before that, before you even get to that point. If you have a mold stain. You want to pre-treat with a stain remover. Follow the instructions, usually it says you can let it sit on there 15 minutes. I've even let stuff sit overnight, as long as you know it's not a really fragile fabric or really sensitive, it's going to be okay. Next when you go to wash your clothes add about a cup of vinegar to the wash machine water. You want to put your clothes in there, let the water start filling up, splash some vinegar in there, let your clothes soak in that vinegar and water overnight, or for a couple of hours. That will really get rid of the smell. And when you wash them, you want to make sure to wash your clothes on the hottest setting possible. This is going to kill the mold, or mildew, or whatever it is that's in the fabric and really get rid of it. Vinegar is also a great disinfectant. Obviously if the fabric that you have, or the clothing that you have is white, bleach instead of vinegar. A lot of times people can't use bleach because you're not luck enough to have an all-white piece of clothing with you know a mold stain on it, or with mold on it. If it is white you can use bleach and that will work really well, but if it's not white use vinegar and it won't bleach out your clothes. I'm Rachel Yatuzis and that is how you get mold out of your clothes.
