"Hey, my name is Shaun and I'm here with the Wilmington Boxing And Fitness Center. I'm here today to show you the proper way to use a treadmill. Here we have one of our treadmills which is a Star Trac model and you want to start out getting on it and you can set it to different modes, the height that you want and the intensity that want starting out. As soon as it's starting out, you want to start out, you get a slower pace, maybe walking starting out and going more of a incline or finding your mode that you wanted to be on. Now for someone more advanced whose trying to really really push it, trying to get the cardio benefits out of it, you can in, you can increase it, you can increase your speed and you can increase the height of it also. So you want to start out; it has different handles using in treadmill where you can put your hands to test your heart rate and see what your heart rate is or also, you just hold on to the handle for safety 'cause if you're going too fast, like you're jogging at a speed of ten or so; if you're not comfortable jogging at that speed, you can end up falling off, hitting the back. So, you want to start just walking, you want to start out walking first. You want to start out just walking on the treadmill first, you then work your way up to the comfortable speed 'cause that's the big thing we concern is starting out too fast and running and that could cause you to fall or you can hit one of the corners and your foot end up slipping off from upon of you. You want to make sure that you're walking straight ahead; your toes and feet all right in front of you, like so. And that's the proper way to use the treadmill."
