"This is Richard Alan Watson and I am an Ophthalmologist in St. Joseph, Missouri. I trained at University of Arkansas Medical Science Campus and I finished my residency in 1990 and today we're going to discuss meningitis. Frequently on cultures for meningitis that there's no bacteria that cultures out and these aseptic forms of meningitis are usually considered viral forms of meningitis which has a generally more benign course. They do not respond to antibiotics because there's no bacteria there causing the infection and those people will become lethargic, develop headaches, not feel well and usually with just conserve your treatments such as fluids, spedras, the patients will recover on their own. Then the headache can be debilitating on most people at work; illness even a week to two weeks of work because of, they just don't feel well enough to go to work and their headache is causing so much difficulties. But they frequently have the stiff neck, back pain, stiff joints that goes along that symptoms. This has been Alan Watson discussing meningitis and the causes and treatments of it."
