"Hello. My name is Dr. Carol Clark. I'm a licensed mental health counselor and sex therapist, here in Miami, Florida. In this clip, we're going to talk about birth control options in women over 35. Women over 35 have to be a little more careful than younger women, because birth control pills, anything including estrogen and progesterone, are going to have more of a negative effect on them. Blood clots, any kind of cardiovascular problems are going to be intensified as we get older. So, women over 35 need to start avoiding estrogen and hormone based preventives, and look to more natural, the calendar method if they want to go completely natural, or barrier methods such as condoms, diaphragms, cervical caps. This will help keep them a little bit safer and, also keep in mind that women over 35 are approaching menopause time, and their cycles are going to become more irregular. Once again, this is Dr. Carol Clark in Miami, Florida."
