"Hi, I'm Dr. Carol Clark. I'm a sex therapist and licensed mental health counselor here in Miami, Florida. In this clip, we're going to talk about what STD you can get from kissing. An STD is, of course, a sexually transmitted disease. And the one that you most typically will get from kissing is herpes -- herpes simplex, either I or II -- because herpes can be transmitted orally and orally genitally. So we can transmit herpes when it's active and you usually know it's active because you have sores either in your mouth or around your lips looking like cold sores or canker sores. And if you're going to kiss someone, then you're most likely to transmit it that way. Sometimes, you can get it orally genitally, and if you're having some kind of oral sex, you can pick herpes up orally and then transmit it to another person through kissing. And so round and round it goes. Once again, this is Dr. Carol Clark in Miami, Florida."
