Hi this is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg in Miami Florida. In this clip we are going to talk about how to stop your puppy from biting. Now this isn't a real mouthy puppy. Some of the more mouthy puppies might be retrievers and terriers, you know just because that is their main tool that they use and especially with puppies they are trying to figure what everything is and these are their hands. So in the case that your dog does start to mouth you or bite you with these little sharp needle teeth we want to kind of trick them into biting us and just before we move our hand out we give them a little pop up on their chin. So they really hate that and their jaws clap together and it reverberates through their head and they tend not to like it. Some puppies come right back at you and think it is a game. They clearly need a firmer correction but in most cases a quick shook of their jaw up while your finger is not in their mouth is great. Once again this is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg with Miami Dog Training.
