"Hello, I'm Bill Flocco from the American Academy of Reflexology in Los Angeles, California. And we're going to talk a little bit about the benefits of reflexology. Let's think about pain. Most pain is caused by tightness in the body. It might be in the jaw, it might be in the neck or shoulders, it might be in the lower back, it might be in the inner abdomen or other places. So unless it's been an injury from a car accident or something like that, most pain is caused by prolonged tension over too long a period of time. And what reflexology does is it helps from the inside out to help reduce the effects of tension, to help soothe the nerves, to help relax the muscles. So for example, if somebody has discomfort in their neck, reflexology is profoundly valuable, especially through the ears, reflexes for the neck on the ears, of helping the neck to feel much better, to relax and to ease off the pain. Same for the shoulders. That if somebody has shoulder pain, between the, especially the ears and the feet, foot reflexology, it's wonderful for relieving pains and discomforts. Let's say for example lower back or knees. People who suffer from lower back discomforts or have strained their knees or hurt their kneecap, a lot of people report tremendous pain relief from having reflexology on the feet, hands and ears. Now that's for a lot of musculoskeletal and some internal pain. A lot of times there's not pain, things inside the body don't work right. For example, the lungs. So if the lungs aren't working right, say somebody has a respiratory problem or their having some problems in their stomach or their gall bladder or their having a lot of constipation and diarrhea and internal lower abdominal issues, there are many, many studies showing how reflexology helps to relieve a lot of these internal effects of stress on the inner chest, inner abdomen and of course musculoskeletal as we said. So I'm Bill Flocco, director of the Academy of Reflexology in Los Angeles, California."
